Golden Thread- Original painting
This painting was my first piece on canvas created specifically for an exhibition. Golden Thread was a part of Leah Wood’s curated exhibition in 2019, drawing attention to issues of climate change and species extinction. It serves a reminder of the delicate balance of our ecosystem and the golden thread that connects all living creatures.
The birds featured in “Golden Thread” are extinct or presumed extinct, due either directly or indirectly to human activity, featuring the date they were presumed extinct.
