Write Your Own Story- limited edition fine art giclee print
I created this painting as a meaningful gift to be given to children of all ages, but especially for our children, God-children and as christening gifts. We may not have all of the answers, but we can give each other hope, creativity, strength and a sense of magic.
Wherever we begin in life, or whatever surrounds us, we can write our own story and make life a grand adventure!
A colourful hot air balloon takes 2 children on their first adventure of many. This is the first in a series of paintings that follow these children on their exploration of the world, and may well one day become a book that inspires hope. This first adventure follows our heroes as they lift off over beautiful West Country, with the Glastonbury Tor below.
As in the best bedtime stories, there are many parts to discover, from a puppy helping a hare and hedgehog to join in, to a dragon hidden amongst seagulls, and a face in the clouds sending a helpful wind…and, as in my murals, theres a dove hidden somewhere!
The message of “Write Your Own Story” is designed for all of us, but for our family it symbolises our son Jacob’s journey of adoption from trauma, and giving the best possible foundation for a happy and fulfilled life of magic and wonder.
Because of this, with every print sale, we will be donating to our amazing adoption agency, Family Futures, a not- for profit adoption and fostering agency. They provide assessment and therapy for children who have experienced trauma and supports their families, across the UK. We cannot speak highly enough about the work they do, and how they have been outstanding in supporting all of us since the beginning of our adoption journey.
